Nigeria: Governor Jang Mourns Plateau Chief Imam

Jos (Nigeria) – Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State, North Central Nigeria, has condoled with the family of late Chief Iman of the state, sheik Balarabe Dawud.

Jang, who led members of the State Executive Council and other top government officials met with family members and leaders of Jama’tu Nasir Islam to commiserate with them over the death of the chief Iman who died after a brief illness.

The Governor prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss, saying the Imam had fulfilled his work on earth, pointing out that “it is left for we that are alive to play our role well in what we do.”

He described the late chief Iman as a lover of peace who has worked for the state, saying the central mosque and the state have lost a great leader.

Jang called on the person taking over to emulate the virtues of the late sheik, stressing the need to embrace Peace and give the needed support to the incoming administration.

Spokesperson of the family, Alhaji Sani Mudi thanked the governor for consoling with the them, describing his death as a great loss to the Muslim faithful and the state.
