Fraud: Jigawa Suspends Coordinators Of Fadama Project

Jigawa state Executive Council has
approved the immediate suspension of
Coordinators of Fadama project at both State and Loca government levels as well as Desk officers.

Subsequently, the Council directed the setting up of a committee under the Chairmanship of the State Head of Service (HOS) Alh. Dakacire A Mohammed to review the recommendations of the White paper for implementation, and modalities to recover all monies misappropriated as well as abuse of contracts under the project.

Briefing the press after the Council’s meeting at the Govt House Dutse, the Commissioner for Information, Home Affairs, Youths and Sports, Hon. Sagir Musa Ahmed stated the Council also approved the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Jigawa State Government and FGV-Europe on the development and implementation
of Bio-inputs, High Quality Seeds, Green House, Irrigation System and
Training and Capacity building on agricultural manpower.

According to Sagir, this was In line with Administration’s 12 Points Agenda on Agricultural, Health, Economic Empowerment, Provision of portable drinking water across the State.

Other resolutions adopted at the Council meeting, included the approval of N4.9b for the year 2024 on procurement of AGO Diesel, Water Treatment Chemicals, Services and Lubricants across the 27 LGAs in the State.

The Council also approved a Memorandum presented by the Ministry of Women Affairs for Physical Verification/Validation of Persons with Disabilities and
Establishment of Database of Orphans, Orphanages and Vulnerable
Aged Populations in the State.

Following the deliberation on the Memo, according to the Commissioner, the Council unanimously approved the upward review of the monthly
allowance from N7,000 to N10,000 per each person with disability
.Similarly, the Council approved increase of number of beneficiaries at each of the 27 LGAs from 150 to 200 across
the State.
