A scheduled 3-Day Special cabinet Retreat presided over by President George Weah of Liberia on Monday in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County ended on Tuesday.

No reason was given for the break-off in the afternoon after closed-door meetings with traditional chiefs, women , students and other key stakeholders.

During the meeting, President Weah was said to have cautioned officials of government to remain focused and continue to work for the remaining five months ahead of the elections.

The Liberian Leader also emphasized that there are much more that needs to be done before the October 10 elections to deliver on the developmental agendas of the government.

The meeting brought together members of the President’s cabinet, heads of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), autonomous agencies, and commissions.

Ministries, agencies and commissions (MACs) reported on progress they have made in achieving the performance targets they set at the last cabinet retreat held in Ganta, Nimba County, last year, according to the Executive Mansion.

The Buchanan meeting was meant not to only take stock of gains made since the mid-2022 Retreat, but to also specifically focus on President Weah’s strategic governance strides in the next 173 days.
