Nigeria: Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs Organises Advanced Training On GEEP 2.0 Digitization And Registration For North East

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajia Sadiya Umar Faruk has been speaking on reasons behind the setting up of  Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme (GEEP 2.0.

The setting up, She says, is to provide access to credit for the poor and vulnerable people who engaged in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise in Nigeria.

Hajia Sadiya who was speaking at an advanced training on GEEP 2.0 on Digitization and Registration for North East Zone, said the Programme is an Interest Free and Collateral Empowerment Programme implemented  alongside a financial partner

She explained that “after the creation of her ministry in 2019, the programme was restructured to GEEP 2, with a view for the new structure to having a top bottom representation at the federal, state and local government levels respectively”.

According to her, the ministry decided to adopt a modern technology/digitization with a view to ensuring the success and progress of its activities among others.

The Minister however appealed to those engaged in the training to put in their best and work hard so as to achieve the desired results.

The advanced Training on GEEP 2.0 was held in the following states in the Zone namely: Taraba, Gombe, Borno, among others.
