The Founder and President of David Umahi Nweze Akubaraoha Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA) an NGO based in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital which is championing the re-election bid of Governor Dave Nweze Umahi in 2019, Lady Monica Ada Chidinma Eze has noted with unflinching joy that the vision and mission of Governor Umahi towards emancipation and rebuilding of Ebonyi to the status and position envisioned by the founding father is now yielding positive results. .
Lady Eze who also acts as a Technical Assistant on Media to Governor Umahi in a press statement issued in Abakaliki described the recent avalanche of awards, national recognition, traditional titles, endorsements and adoption of Engr. Dave Nweze Umahi the amiable and wonder performing Governor of Ebonyi State as a result of the avalanche of projects he initiated and executed in various Local Government Areas of the state.
Monica Eze, AKA Ada Ebonyi further described those opposing his reelection bid in the State as politicians that are not happy and comfortable with the high standard he has set in the State so far in governance .
She reassured the governor that with the efforts of DUNAETA and other similar organizations that have adopted and ready to mobilize the entire State, the efforts of these enemies of democracy and good governance will be surely an exercise in futility.
According to the fiery lady of the media, the feats and achievements of Governor Umahi in all areas of human endeavours in the State positions him to have an easy sail to the Government House come 2019 and luckily enough most of the opposition political parties in the State are now finding it difficult to scout for a creditable candidate that can challenge the wonder working Governor of Ebonyi State.
The NGO President whose main goal is to ensure the re-election of Governor Umahi during the 2019 general elections, highlighted that in the spirit of equity, justice and fairness, Governor Umahi must be allowed to complete his eight years tenure as the gang up to truncate this move will be the highest injustice against the Southern senatorial zone of Ebonyi State .
She said after that, both the Northern zone of the State through Senator Sam Egwu and the Central Senatorial zone through Chief Martins Elechi were all allowed to complete their two-term bid.
The Technical Adviser on Media to the Governorreiterated that the NGO is not campaigning for the re-election of Governor Umahi because of politics but because Governor Umahi has redefined governance in Ebonyi State through his empowerment scheme that has touched almost every family in the State.
In her words: “Apart from this, his infrastructural revolution is very visible even to the blind, his feats in the education, health, agriculture sector where he has made the State a reference point and example to both the Federal Government and most of the State Governments. Nobody can deny the visible developmental Strides of the Umahi led Administration which makes his second term tenure bid none negotiable.”
The DUNAETA President describes Governor Umahi as an exceptional and patriotic leader for appointing Akpu-Enika, an Anambra State-born as a commissioner and member of the State Executive Council, seven Hausas and six Yorubas as Technical Assistants (TAs) stating that these appointments of non indigenes are the highest by any State Government in the Federation. She commended the Non-indigenes under the umbrella of Urban Forum residing in Ebonyi State for endorsing and adopting Governor Umahi as their sole candidate in the 2019 election.
According to the Leader of the forum, Chief Charles Akpu-Enika, “we wish to warn critics in the state to steer clear, saying that they cannot be deceived by falsehood and propaganda being peddled by opposition elements, as the 2019 general elections draw near. Since the emergence of the current administration, incidents of land grabbing and intimidation has stopped because of the disposition of the governor, anybody coming to deceive us will be resisted. We won’t allow those who call themselves opposition deceive us. They are those who are against us.”
Akpu-Enika, an Anambra State-born Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development explained that about seven Hausas and six Yoruba people were appointed as Technical Assistants to the Governor; a thing he said, had never been done before now.
“We have witnessed empowerment of widows, empowerment of youth and these are done without segregation as to where you come from. We have witnessed restoration of peace Ezillo and Ezza/Ezillo, now tell me why or what any person can advance as reason why we should not even beg Umahi to continue the good works” Akpu-Enika said.
Lady Eze commended the Conference of Commissioners, Conference of Special Assistants to Governor Umahi and all the Local Government Areas as well as towns that have endorsed and adopted Governor Umahi for second term.
