Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy in Liberia has confirmed that the United States government is assisting and supporting Liberia’s ongoing investigation into the movement of illicit substances in the country and the region.

The confirmation was contained in an official response from the embassy following an inquiry by a local media. The response, conveyed through the embassy’s Public Affairs Section, said the U.S. government will continue to assist and support the Liberian government as it investigates the movement of illicit substances.

The embassy’s position signals continued U.S. cooperation with Liberian authorities in efforts to address illicit drug trafficking and related activities.

The confirmation comes amid heightened scrutiny of alleged international drug trafficking activities involving Liberia. U.S. support is expected to strengthen ongoing efforts by Liberian security and law enforcement institutions to investigate and disrupt illicit drug networks.
