The Contractors Association of Kaduna State in North West Nigeria, has applauded the administration of Senator Uba Sani, for its bold and responsive approach to settling inherited liabilities owed to contractors.
The Chairman of the Association, Engr. Ahmed Baba, was speaking with newsmen shortly after a high-level meeting between senior government officials and the leadership of the association in Kaduna.
Engr. Baba acknowledged that although the current administration inherited huge outstanding liabilities from the past administration, Governor Uba Sani has shown that government is a continuous process. He noted that the Governor has expressed serious concern over the huge amount of liabilities inherited and has taken concrete steps to addressing them.
According to him, the Governor has now set aside a dedicated monthly payment plan to ensure that all verified inherited liabilities are systematically cleared.
He further added that since the inception of the Uba Sani-led administration, no contractor handling projects under the government has been left unpaid, a development he described as unprecedented and encouraging.
“Despite inheriting a huge burden of outstanding liabilities, His Excellency has demonstrated true leadership. He has made it clear that government is a continuum and that contractors must not suffer for their service to the state. The monthly payment structure he has approved is a lifeline to many of our members,” Engr. Baba stated.
The Association expressed profound appreciation to the Governor and reaffirmed its commitment to support the administration’s infrastructural drive and to deliver quality and timely projects across Kaduna State.
