Liberia: ‎AYLI Signs Partnership with Tema Youth Association in Ghana

Date:

‎
‎The Africa Youth Leadership Institute (AYLI) has strengthened its partnership with the Tema Youth Association in Tema, Ghana, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at deepening collaboration and expanding youth leadership and empowerment initiatives.
‎
‎The partnership is intended to promote youth leadership and capacity development in Ghana through the Africa Youth Leadership Program, AYLI’s flagship youth leadership initiative.

Under the agreement, the Tema Youth Association will serve as a lead mobilization partner, helping to identify and mobilize eligible young people in Ghana to apply for and participate in AYLP, a tuition-free online leadership development programme.
‎
‎Beyond AYLP,  the two organizations will collaborate in the planning and implementation of youth-focused initiatives, including conferences, youth exchanges, fellowships, festivals, leadership programmes, and other capacity-building activities in Ghana.
‎
‎The partnership is designed to create greater opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills, build networks, exchange knowledge and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities and the African continent.
‎
‎The signing ceremony brought together executive members of the Tema Youth Association, led by its President, Mr. Abraham Adjei Tawiah. AYLI was represented by its Continental Secretary, Amb. Tarka R. Golegio, with the agreement receiving the approval signature of AYLI’s Executive Director, Amb. Christopher Touabli Jr.
‎
‎The signing took place in Community 1, Tema Community, Ghana, in July 2026.
‎
‎As part of the partnership and AYLI’s expansion of its programmes in Ghana, the Institute has appointed Mr. Emmanuel Ashikwei as Country Director for Ghana. He will represent AYLI’s interests in the country and spearhead the coordination and implementation of AYLI programmes and initiatives in Ghana.
‎
‎The partnership with Tema Youth Association represents another step in AYLI’s efforts to build stronger networks with youth organizations across Africa and create opportunities for young people to develop the knowledge, skills and leadership capacity needed to contribute to Africa’s future.
