With thankfulness in their hearts for the Lord’s mighty deeds, the Choir of the Christian Evangelical Fellowship of Nations (CEFN) Zonal Headquarters Church, Kakuri Kaduna, North West Nigeria marked its 2026 Annual Day on Sunday 30/08, rolling out drums and sounding cymbals among others with songs of praise.
Appearing in white depicting the joy in their hearts, the Choir marshalled their songs in both English and native languages to the admiration of the congregation under the theme “Power of Praise, Key to Open Doors” Acts 16:25-26
Apart from songs of praise, the occasion featured choreography by teens.
Delivering a sermon on the theme, Rev. Joshua Meliga of Ungwa Yelwa branch of the Church , reminded the congregation that when One sings, he walks a God design – Pathway to joy or spiritually strengthened for trial.
Paul and Silas who were on divine assignment or mission, he said, were unjustly imprisoned but their singing led to the resultant earthquake.
God’s presence, the pastor said, is always with One singing of praise or making joyful noise to Him while also citing the falling of the Wall of Jericho.
Rev Meliga therefore admonished Christians to take delight in singing songs of praise and prayers when things are hard or soft..
Earlier in an address of welcome, the Choir Master of the church, Mr Peter Onu said this year’s Day was divinely “appointed” to reshape their lives for greater ministry.
He enjoined the congregation to rededicate themselves so that doors of greater opportunities be opened and where no man could shut..
Mr. Onu however appealed to all groups and individuals as well as the entire church to assist in terms of equipment saying that many things were lacking in the music section.
“And in case God has laid it in your heart to assist us, you can see the Choir Master or the Reverend Man of God to put heads together”, he appeals.
Meanwhile the Zonal Pastor who doubles as the Resident Pst, Rev. Emmanuel Adaji at the occasion, announced a three=day Prayer and Fasting period for Ember months. begining this Wednesday to Friday.
The faithful will pray to ward off any possible calamity that could come across them
