The presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) for Nigeria’s 2027 general election, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, has named Chinazam Ike as his vice presidential candidate, completing the party’s presidential ticket ahead of the polls.
The appointment was announced in a statement by Abbas’ Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson.
Announcing the choice, Abbas said the nomination reflected his commitment to building “a united, inclusive, competent and youth-driven leadership” that represents the aspirations of Nigerians.
He said the Abbas-Ike ticket would offer Nigerians “a credible alternative” capable of restoring hope, strengthening national unity, promoting economic prosperity and delivering purposeful governance.
The ADP presidential candidate described Ike as a political leader, entrepreneur and youth advocate from Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State in southeastern Nigeria.
According to the statement, Ike has more than two decades of leadership and political experience. He previously served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria and was also National Youth Leader of the Action Democratic Party.
Beyond politics, the statement said Ike is the Project Director of Season.com Nigeria Limited, where he has contributed to housing development and economic growth. It added that he is recognised for his integrity, inclusive leadership and commitment to youth empowerment, national development and democratic values.
Abbas said the presidential ticket represents “a generational shift” anchored on competence, justice, equity, innovation and service, bringing together Nigerians across regional, ethnic and religious divides in pursuit of a more united and prosperous nation.
He called on Nigerians, particularly young people, women, professionals, traditional institutions, civil society organisations and other stakeholders, to support the ADP’s campaign ahead of the 2027 general election, expressing confidence that the party’s ticket offers a fresh vision for the country’s future.
