Group under the auspices of Arewa Core Vanguard For Good Governance has warned political Mercenaries blackmailing Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar saying the senator serves as a strategic northern pillar for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, actively championing his ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda and galvanizing nationwide grassroots and political support for the President’s re-election.
Speaking during a Press Conference on Wednesday afternoon in Kaduna, the Northwest Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmadu said Yari has become Tinubu’s key northern political operator. His support is not just endorsements, it’s a multi-layered strategy blending ideology, grassroots machinery, and regional bargaining.

He maintained that under the Renewed Hope Network, Senator Yari launched the national political movement to consolidate nationwide support, unite progressive voices, and promote the administration’s achievements at the grassroots level across Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas.
“Yari has actively campaigned for President Tinubu’s re-election in the North, emphasizing that the Northwest region owes the President political gratitude for his decisive role in the electoral victories of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
“He has organized large-scale special prayers and gatherings—involving hundreds of Islamic clerics and traditional rulers—to seek divine guidance for the President in leading the country toward its full potential.
Yari’s advocacy network frequently counters opposition narratives, actively urging Nigerians to support the President’s ongoing economic and institutional reforms.
Yari has strongly distanced himself from fabricated allegations claiming he financed anti-government protests, reaffirming that his relationship with the President is built on mutual respect and an unwavering commitment to national stability.
Advocacy for Democratic Equity: He has maintained a stance that the Presidency should remain in the South for two full terms to ensure political balance and national unity.
The group recalled that on March 30th, 2026 at Arewa Think Tank prayer for Tinubu’s 74th birthday, Yari said Tinubu “met the Nigerian room with pitches, with holes, rain running down from the roof”. To fix it, he had to “remove the entire roofing to make a brand new roofing for longer sustainability” — explaining current hardship as necessary reform.
He said Tinubu inherited “deep rooted structural challenges” and was compelled to act boldly meanwhile at his Talata-Mafara polling unit, Sen. Yari said Tinubu’s commitment to fighting insurgency in the Northwest exceeds past presidents he worked with.
