The group cautioned those it described as miscreants sponsored to spoil the name of the leader of the SDP, Mr. Adewole Adebayo to desist from such acts.
Addressing a press conference in Lafia, Nasarawa state on Wednesday, the Zonal Coordinator of the youth group, Comrade
Yusuf Sani Umar explained that contrary to rumour making the round, the party remains united, and determined to take over power from the ruling APC in 2027.
Umar added that APC and the PDP have both disappointed Nigerians in the past and presently, just like Nigerians are going through economic hardship. ” APC is weak, and we will use it to campaign against it,” he emphasised.
The Zonal Coordinator was optimistic that the party will sweep the zone during the general elections.
“The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has undergone a significant transformation, evolving into a welcoming platform for Nigerians from all walks of life. Our doors are open to everyone who shares our vision for a better future, and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every member can contribute to the party’s growth and success.
“This transformation is a testament to our commitment to progress and our determination to build a party that truly represents the interests of Nigerians. We appreciate the good leadership quality provided by the party from the states to the National level for their vision and dedication to the growth of the party.
“At this critical moment, unity among stakeholders is paramount. The average Nigerian voter is looking to the SDP as an alternative platform to rescue them from the failures of both the PDP and APC. We must present a united front to capitalise on this opportunity and demonstrate our commitment to providing a better future for Nigerians.
Unfortunately, some youths allegedly recently sponsored used our registered name to undermine the good work of one of the leaders of the party, Prince Adewole Adebayo. We call on them to refrain from that action in future, or we will report them to the relevant authorities for disciplinary action.
“The SDP Youth Vanguard is using this medium to apologise to Prince Adewole Adebayo on behalf of those youths who may be misled to carry out that unfortunate activity.”
