…Launches New Constitution For Enugu State Women Wing In Billiri
Igbo community resident in Gombe State have lauded Inuwa Yahaya’s administration for appreciating the contributions of the Igbos to the socio-economic development and peaceful coexistence among ethnic groups in the State.
The community specifically thanked the governor for appointing One of theirs, Chief C C Ewuzie as Special Adviser on Inter-Community Relations.
The President General, Igbo Community Welfare Association (ICWA) Gombe, Barr. Herbert Nnabuenyi Orabueze Nwoye, made the commendation at the launching of the new Constitution and unveiling of Enugu State Women’s Wing new uniforms at Billri in Billiri LGA of the State.
Barr. Nwoye stated that the new constitution, if implemented faithfully, would promote unity and guide the association and therefore commended the women for conceiving the idea.
The new uniforms, Nwoye observed, symbolize the union’s unity and synergy.
He recalled the long-standing relationship between the Tangale people and the Igbos, highlighting their intermarriages and mutual support.
Also speaking , a member of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Yakubu Daniel Dan Gombe expressed delight at the Igbo community’s unity and spirit of love.
Igbo nation, he said, is worthy of emulation in terms of commerce and industrialization.
On his part, Chief Clifford Ngene, a renowned businessman in Billiri, expressed delight at the launching of the new constitution and uniforms, stating that the new constitution would meet the needs of the present realities.
The Chairperson of Enugu Women’s Wing Association, Mrs. Chinasa Okwuoba, highlighted the cordial relationship between the Tangale people and the Igbos, including intermarriages and contributions to social amenities.
The event showcased the strong bond between the Igbos and their host community, promoting unity, peace, and progress.
