As goodies continue to roll into Southern Kaduna, North West Nigeria, the Senator representing the Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sunday Katung has again initiated the construction of solar-powered boreholes with mini treatment plants at several locations.

The locations include, the Kaduna State College of Nursing and Midwifery in Kafanchan, Kaduna State College of Education Gidan-Waya, Federal School of Statistics Manchok, Antong community, Zitti community, Madakiya Central, Zango Urban, Zonkwa Market, and Ghauta.

A total of nine solar-powered boreholes with mini treatment plants have been awarded to Messrs. CWM Contracting Ltd. This initiative is under the supervision of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

This is just as a Federal University was recently approved for the area.

In addition, Sen. Katung recently ordered the construction of approximately 30 manual boreholes across various communities within the senatorial district.

These efforts are part of Senator Katung’s commitment to improving his constituents’ access to potable water, according to a statement from his Media Aide, Mr. Midat Joseph.

The senator, the statement emphasized, is determined to address the challenges faced by residents in accessing clean water at home and in schools.

“The successful completion of the project would mark a crucial step in addressing water scarcity, a challenge faced by numerous households across our senatorial district.

“By providing sustainable, safe water sources, Senator Katung not only improves public health but also enhances the quality of life for our people,”

The statement described Sen. Katung as a leader who loves his people dearly and, will do anything possible to bring hope to the people of Southern Kaduna.

“Senator Katung believes that access to clean water is fundamental to the well-being of any community. The construction of these boreholes signifies more than just an infrastructure project; it is a major contribution to the public health framework of the senatorial district.”
