2023 International Day Of Peace Marked In Kaduna With Gospel Of Peace, Unity

Interfaith Mediation Centre (IMC) in collaboration with the Opus Peace Foundation and a coalition of partners, including the Kaduna State Peace Commission, Community Peace Initiatives to Promote Peace (CIPP), JNI, CAN, Network of Peace Journalists, Action Aid, Global Peace Development, Network for Peace and Security, and International Alert, the Interfaith Mediation Centre (IMC) organized a commemorative event for the International Day of Peace.

The co-director of the interfaith mediation center kaduna Rev. Dr James mobel wuye said the event was organized to marks this year’s world international peace day which aims at strengthening relationship among the adherence of different faith base organizations

This event underscores the vital role of religion in fostering and sustaining peace within religious institutions and communities.

It acknowledges the substantial contributions of religious leaders in advocating for peace and encouraging both leaders and their followers to deepen their faith and promote peace values.

The central message revolves around utilizing faith as a tool to spread love, tolerance, and unity within a diverse society.

The aims of the endurance trekking is to strengthen peace and unity among Nigerians

This celebration also spotlights verses from various holy books that underscore unity, peace, and mutual respect among individuals of different faiths, highlighting the significance of coming together under the guidance of God to foster understanding and forgiveness among all.

Similarity, Rev Caleb Maaji, a Chapter Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN emphasized the importance of peace and unity among Nigerians

He called on citizens to embrace living with one another irrespective of tribal religious and cultural differences for the betterment of the the country

In his remark, the National President of Nigeria networks of peace journalists (NNPJ) ibrahima yakubu called on religious leaders to embark on ceaseless campaign toward promoting peaceful coexistence among different faith-based organizations in the country

He said, United nation has declared 21th September as the world international peace as a day to promote peace and harmony across the universe

He said, the importance of peace and harmony cannot be over emphasized seeing the vital roles peace and unity play in the country .

He then called on youth to shun all forms of drugs abuse, violence

The trekking which commences around 8.ooam to 9.30am enabled people to interrelate and talk about better ways to enhance mutual understanding among different faith base organizations in the country

Participants appealed to authorities concern8 to find a lasting solution to banditry, kidnapping and terrorism attacks negating peace and stability in the country
