The Attah Igala, His Royal Majesty, Matthew Alaji Opaluwa has described the attack on Radio Kogi booster station at Ochaja, as barbaric.
The Attah stated this through the Ejeh Dekina, Alhaji Usman Obaje who was instructed by the Monarch to visit the station.
The Attah Igala expressed sadness over the unfortunate development and called on security agents to fish out the perpetrators.
He lamented that the incident occurred at a critical time when the people needed information, describing it as a serious setback to Igala land.
The traditional ruler, while commiserating with the management and staff of the corporation over the unfortunate incident, appealed to the state government to give the state media organ urgent attention to enable it come back on air within a short time.
He also called on government to strengthen the security architecture of the station order to forestall a recurrence.
Responding on behalf of the Director-General of the State Broadcasting Corporation, Alhaji Ojo-Oyila Ozovehe, the Corporation Secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Dansoho, thanked the Attah Igala for the visit.
Alhaji Ojo-Oyila stated that the report of the attack had been forwarded to the necessary quarters for action, describing the incident as pure criminality and sabotage.
He assured that government will do everything possible to restore the station back on air.
