Nigeria: Jigawa Poly To Matriculating Students, Don’t Indulge In Social Vices.

Jigawa State Polytechnic has held its
matriculation ceremony, being the 11th in the series covering new intakes of HND, ND, AD and Diploma Programmes for students who gained admission into the Institution this year.

Addressing the students, the Rector, Dr. Aliyu Abdu Ibrahim said all the programs of the institution were accredited, adding that the Polytechnic was fully accredited for a period of five years from 2017 -2022.

He called on the matriculated students to be law abiding and keep away from cultism and other social vices detrimental to the school’s rules and regulations, warning that disciplinary actions will surely be taken on erring students found wanting.

On staff’s welfare and promotion, Dr. Ibrahim stated that fifty nine staff were promoted to positions of higher responsibility, while more casual staff were employed with the aim of containing the security situation and keeping the environment clean and tidy.

Other achievements recorded by the Institution, are enhancement of provision of water supply within the institution with the construction of additional three boreholes and two hand pumps, installation of two number 100 KVA power plant which supply power in the school, as well enriching the institution with volumes of collection of current and relevant text books, among others.

” Currently we have 23 number staff on PhDs programme and 23 staff on Master degree programmes in various institutions both within and outside the country.

The Jigawa State Polytechnic has six different colleges including, College of Business and Management studies, Social and General studies, Environmental, Engineering and Health sciences, College of Engineering, Social and General Services.
