Nigeria: Investigate LP Vice Presidential Candidate Over Comment On End To Democracy On May 29 If …, – IPAC

Group under the auspices of Northern Leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), has called on security Agencies to investigate the Labour Party Vice Presidential Candidate, Datti Ahmed over comment against the president Elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It could be recalled that the LP vice president candidate recently warned that the president Elect Bola Ahmed must not be sworn in or Democracy will come to an end in May 29.

The IPAC Chairman, Abubakar Dogara at a news briefing in Kaduna said the Forum expressed serious concerned over the comment.

“We wish to dissociate ourselves from the current moves by
Yusuf Datti Ahmed and We are disturbed by the potential uprising against Nigeria’s Democracy.

“We urge the relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate all those against the sworn in so as to bring them to Justice. Our forum believes that pre and post elections violence, and other forms of inciting statements from politicians have no Place in the country’s democratic process and must be condemned by all well-meaning Nigerians,” he said

He said Nigeria has come this far in its democratic journey since civil rule was restored in 1999 and cannot afford a reversal at this stage.

The group said every Nigerian with good memory will remember the unfortunate event of the 1993 and such should never be allowed to repeat itself by antidemocratic elements.
