Nigeria: Foundation Distributes Learning Materials To 200 Vulnerable Children, Inmates


An NGO, Libashez Care Foundation, (LCF), has distributed learning materials to 200 vulnerable children, as well as reaching out to 60 inmates of Kaduna Open Correctional Centre to enhance their education.

Founder of LCF, Mr. Pius Ibrahim Abba disclosed this Friday during a media parley in Kaduna.

Abba who was represented by the Executive Coordinator of the NGO, Mr. Irole Charles, said the foundation was inaugurated in 2021 with the aim of service to young people in the fields of education, health, protection, sports for development and secure livelihood in order to bring positive change to the society at large.

The Executive Coordinator added that LCF also works on reducing Gender Based Violence (GBV) and ensure survivors are linked for various support services and justice.

“LCF’s main interests are centred on issues related to the empowerment of youth, bringing about productive change, sexual and reproductive health, household economic strengthening, and mental health,” he said

The founder of LCF also used the opportunity to roll out a five- year programme of the foundation which will include: improved individual health and equitable services through strategic partnership and sustainable programmes.

He itemized the programmes to include; increased literacy level of students, increased capacity of teachers to effectively deploy literacy sessions, increased percentage in the number of students on scholarship, increased financial literacy among youths;

Others are; increase the employability skills of youths, increased interpersonal and leadership skills of LCF using sports; and increase access to portable water, sanitation and hygiene for 5000 less privilege persons.

Mr Abba emphasized that the foundation has a vision to care and support individuals who are passing through difficult times and help them to find solutions to their problems.

“Our mission is also to improve outcome in the lives of the vulnerable and less privileged especially children, women, girl-child and youth by providing them with quality healthcare, education, empowerment, skills training and income generational activities,” he added.
