Plateau State Governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP,, Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum, has enjoined members of the party, friends and well wishers who discharged their civic responsibility by exercising their franchise of voting at the February 25, 2023 Presidential and National Assembly polls, and have massively voted for the LP and its Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, not to loose heart at the turnout of events where manipulations and twist characterized the exercise resulting to depriving them of their victory.
A statement signed by the Director, Internal Relations Consolidation for Greater Plateau 2023, Shabul Mazadu strongly observed that such manipulations and twist were capable of discouraging so many Nigerians, not only LP faithful but well wishers from participating in the governorship and House of Assembly elections coming up on March 11, 2023.
“So far, the LP Presidential candidate has declared that he will recoup his stolen mandate at the tribunal as there are sufficient evidences that revealed the party won the presidential election but was wrested.
“As such, we must keep faith alive, pray fervently for victory in recouping the stolen mandate and be undaunted and resilient in the face of provocation and turnout en masse and vote for the LP at the governorship and House of Assembly polls even as Peter Obi has advised us to do so.
” Dakum quoted Keith Ellison saying, “Not voting is not protest, but surrender.”
He said since the essence of voting out the ruling party is to usher in good governance, the incumbent will stop at nothing to ensure continuity of its unpopular policies which have subjected the greatest population of Nigerians to untold hardship and mediocrity, as such, “we must be resilient, determined and steadfast at ensuring the realization of our liberation.
“There is no time to surrender or be discouraged, by doing so, we are extending the evil days and compromising our freedom, progress and development” he said
Dakum added that all must be strong and courageous as victory beckons at the horizon, saying turnout en masse and vote LP top to bottom.:
