Former President Jimmy Carter of United States Enters Hospice Care

Former President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, has entered home hospice care in Plains, Georgia. He was the 39th US President.

Hospice care is a program that provides special care to people who are near the end of life and have stopped treatment to control their illness.

A statement by The Carter Center on Saturday says, “After a series of short hospital stays, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter today decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention.

“He has the full support of his family and his medical team.

“The Carter family asks for privacy during this time and is grateful for the concern shown by his many admirers.”

Carter, at 98 years old is the longest-lived American president,

Prior to contesting and winning the United States presidential elections, Carter was a little-known Georgia governor.
