A former Deputy Senate Minority Leader and Senator representing Taraba South, Emmanuel Bwacha, has emerged winner in the fresh All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election Taraba state.
The Electoral Committee Chairman and former Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, announced this at the end of the exercise.
Mr. Buratai announced that Bwacha polled a total of 778 from the 791vote cast by the delegates.
His closest rival, Senator Yusuf Yusuf, currently representing Taraba Central at the National Assembly got 5 votes. The four other contestants got zero votes.
Reacting to his victory, Bwacha said the outcome of the fresh primary is a testament to his popularity among APC members.
While expressing confidence in winning the guber elections, Bwacha promised to carry all party members along.
