Yunusa Aliyu is a broadcast journalist and has been in the television industry for 45 years and still very active and practicing.
He began his career at the defunct Broadcasting Company of Northern Nigeria – BCNN in 1975 as an assistant producer in the Current Affairs department of the organization.
He worked under the tutelage of some of the greatest broadcasters known to the industry. Among them were the late Adamu Augie, Jimmy Atte, Timawus Mathias, Mohammed Sulaiman, Aliyu Hayattu, Sidi Ali Sirajo and host of other great minds that laid the foundation for the growth and development of the broadcast media in the northern part of Nigeria.
When the BCNN alongside other regional broadcast stations were taken over by the Federal Government in 1977, Yunusa Aliyu opted to join the then NTV Kaduna before it was renamed NTA .
While there, he rose through the ranks functioning as a reporter, production editor, news producer as well as producer / presenter of high profile news and current affairs Programmes namely “ Guest of the week” and “ Issues of the Moment.
He also made his mark as a frontline documentary producer for the station. To his credit we’re following productions:-
* The challenge of the Almajiri system
* The return of Democratic rule in Nigeria
* The Man Ahmed Makarfi
* Girl child Education in the North
* Community Policing in the United States- A documentary production sponsored by the United States government etc
Such were the strides of Yunusa Aliyu at NTA Kaduna before he was transferred to become the pioneer Manager News and Current Affairs of NTA NEWS 24.
While there, he also doubled as the producer of the popular NTA network programme, “NEWS EXTRA” and the talk show programmer known as “Early Edition” a current affairs programme that metamorphosed to become what is known today as “GOOD MORNING NIGERIA”.

Yunusa Aliyu retired from the NTA in 2010 and is currently the General Manager of Newage Network Communications, a kaduna based Tv content development company with branch offices in Abuja and Lagos.
Yunusa Aliyu, has undertaken professional visits and study tours of the United States, Britain, China and countries in the West African sub- Region.
He is a product of among others, Federal Govt College Sokoto, Visnews London, TV College Jos and the
National Open University of Nigeria.
