Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has tasked graduands of Logistics courses to remain resolute in the collective quest to build a strong Nigeria.
Speaking at the closing of the combined graduation ceremony of the Student officers and ratings held on thursday at the Nigerian Navy Logistics College in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of the State, the Governor who was represented by his deputy and APC Gubernatorial Candidate Dr.Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna said he is aware that alot of investment have been made on the graduands during their training in the college.
“The very large portion of this investment is in the development of your written, oral,professional and leadership skills he said”.
The Governor noted that the country expect them to always be in their best form towards enhancing the capability of the Nigerian Navy because global events have shown that they have to deal with situation not only in the classroom in the discharge of their duty,therefore they have to continue to build on what they have learnt in the course and improve on the basics towards enhancing Nigeria’s Maritime security
“I am convinced this training had impacted positively on your loyalty and dedication as service men and women, it must have been a period of intensive activities covering many aspects of service and professional skills relevant to Naval operations Ganduje says.”
He further explained that the State Government appreciates the contribution of the Nigerian Navy Logistics College Dawakin Tofa to the internal security operation in the State which has no doubt enhanced the security of the Kano State.
The Governor also assured that the State Government will continue to support the college in the provision of necessary logistics towards enhancing the security of Kano State.
In his address, the Commandant of the college, Commodore Usman Mainasara Bugaje said the college trains officers of ranks of Lieutenant Commander to Commander in long logistics management course, Sub lieutenant to lieutenant in the logistics officers basic course and Sub technical refreshers course for newly commissioned Sub lieutenants.
He went on to say that the intent of the courses is to prepare both the junior and senior officers on logistics planning and management naval operations because Naval operations and campaigns are heavily dependent on logistics.
Highlights of the occasion includes the launching of the college maiden magazine.
