Lack Of Health Insurance For Staff Worries Liberia’s Diplomatic Mission In Italy

Liberia’s Diplomatic Mission in Italy has Complained the lack of health insurance for staff, urging President Weah’s swift intervention.

The Liberian Embassy near Rome, Italy has informed Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel McGill on a continental tour of Europe, the lack of health insurance as one of the constraints affecting the embassy staff.

Ambassador Andrew Kronyanh further indicated that they find it difficult getting treated for illnesses as a result of not having health insurance, a key human need in western countries.

The Diplomat however commended the government for the timely payment of salaries and rentals for the embassy, stressing that they would prefer the previous method of quarterly payment of salaries and benefits rather than being paid on a monthly basis.
