The Director General, Tinubu Support Groups, Abdulmumini Jibrin has back-pedaled to the ruling party, All Progressive Congress, APC after securing the party ticket to contest for the House of Representatives, Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency seat.
Jibrin, a former member of the green chamber and Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation during controversial budget padding had over the weekend announced his exit from the party after a political squabble over the party’s flag bearer.
It was gathered that it took the intervention of the party national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmad Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to resolve the matter amicably.
A source in Jibrin’s team who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that outcome of the intervention led the party’s decision to hand over the party ticket to him.
The source said, “All thanks to Almighty Allah. It’s official. We thank President Muhammadu Buhari, Ahmad Bola Tinubu, APC National Chairman, Alh Abdullahi Adamu, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the state party chairman, Abdullahi Abbas for the reconciliation process in the APC office in Kiru/Bebeji area.
“For us in the Jibrin’s camp, it was a success as our leader got the party ticket to contest for the House of Representatives, Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency seat,” the source said.
Recall that Jibrin lost his bid to return to the green chamber during a re-run election on January 25, 2020, after a fall out between him and party leaders in the state and that which led to the party leaders allegedly working against him and later saw the emergence of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate, Aliyu Datti Yako.
