World Clean Up Day 2021: Nigerian Youth Mobilized For Garbage Free Environment

Nigerian scientists and environmentalists have mobilized thousands of youth through social media on ways to stop indiscriminate throwing away of garbages to protect the environment against pollution.
At a one day sensitization workshop ahead of World International Clean-up Day 2021 , a team of Nigerian scientists, Geologists, environmentalists  and volunteer climatologists have commenced a one week awareness campaign among students on the importance of cleaning up surroundings to avert the spread of tropical disease  and other environmental disasters which include flood, water-borne diseases, malaria fever, chlolera among others.
A Climatologist and Micro-biologist, Comd, Nurudden Bello who is the Director of African Climate Reporters says the aim of the campaign is to raise more awareness for the general public on the harmful effect of throwing away all sorts of plastic trash and other garbages into, streams ,gutters and rivers,
The Campaign which began Wednesday  is expected to last for one week, while drawing the attention of all students and other residents on the importance of wearing face masks and respecting social distancing to avert the spread of Covid 19
They are going to use social media to mobilize thousands of youth and women  and sensitize them through their android phone on the imporatance of cleaniness of the environment
“We are going to use Facebook,Twitter,Instargram,whatsupp,Badoo and other network
while releasing many press statement to multiple media organization across the country to support in creating some jingles.dramer to sensitizes the public about the day”
Adding also that it is aimed at educating the public on its dangers to the entire life of human being ,animals and living organism  .
He said, a fresh and healthy environment is very vital for the growth and success of Wild Lifefruits, vegetables, and other species in the environment.
“The environment around us is an essential part of human survival, hence the need to protect it through cleaning and raising more awareness among youth and teenagers on their own contributions”
Assessing and promoting an environmentally friendly lifestyle in order to minimize the pollution and degradation of natural resources, is the secret to make these tools readily available for future generations
Stressing that  air and water pollution remains one of the dangerous environmental pollution that is capable of killing large number of human beign,animals and other living organism
,”The worldwide climate patterns have shifted as a complete and we, the people only are responsible for this as a consequence of contributing to pollution”
“This is principal because of increased industrialization, cutting down the woods, usage of fuel to operate the automobiles, planes, and machines.”
“It has led to high carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. A rise in the temperature surely increases the likelihood of the incidence of dangerous storms and catastrophic weather patterns.”
Bello was of the view that the Day will unite more than 20 million people in 180 countries. .
On that day volunteers and partners worldwide will come together again to rid the planet of trash – cleaning up litter and mismanaged waste from our beaches, rivers, forests, and streets.
“we are going to take the campaigns to mosques ,schurches, temples ,markets ,parks. view centers and stadium as well as sensetizing more women organizations and other youth groups across the north”
“we are equally taking the campaign to traditional title holders and to meet with Top politicians on their own contribution on the campaigh”
Additionally, World Cleanup Day harnesses the power of everyday people to achieve incredible things by joining together. Its beauty lies in cooperation and collaboration: building bridges between disparate communities, and including all levels of society – from citizens to business, to government.
Similarly, Mallam Abdulhadi mohammed , Head of Geography department at the school of health science kaduna added , that there is the need to trained more students on ways to support in protecting their environment through cleaning up their surrounding on daily baises.
”They need to know that they are also stake holders in protecting their  environment,hence the need for them to equally support and mobilises other youth to join the campaign”
He said, A Clean Environment Is Essential for Healthy Living, hence the need to raise more awareness on the general public on the dangers associated with environment dumped with garbages.
Further more, The more you don’t care about our environment, the more it will become polluted with contaminants and toxins that have a harmful impact on our health. Air pollution can cause respiratory diseases and cancer, among other problems and diseases.
A healthy and clean environment will surely bring about a workforce with enhanced well-being. This will surely decrease the average number of leaves per worker in business thereby enhancing productivity
Some of the school students that attendant the workshop expressed delight and show full commitment toward contributing in saving the environment
