Polio: Bring out your children for immunisation – JAP Tells parents

Kaduna State Government in collaboration with Development Partners has concluded arrangement for the commencement of polio immunization campaign.

The exercise is scheduled as follows: DOPV 22-23 and House to House 24-27 October, 2020 and would be conducted on the streets, markets, and motor parks among others.

This is contained In a statement isued by the State Coordinator, Journalists Initiative on Immunization against Polio (JAP) Kaduna State Chapter, Malam Lawal, Dogara Chapter.
JAP explained that although Nigeria and Africa continent have been certified Polio-free, supplemental Home-to-Home and routine immunization will continue to be implemented to prevent importation of the wild polio virus from endemic countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan.
JAP urged the parents and care givers to make sure their children are immunized during the exercise.
JAP also urged religious and community leaders to champion sensitization campaign against the spread of COVID-19 to curtail the spread of the disease.
JAP described COVID 19 as a notorious disease which has spread all over the world and does not respect class or position of any person.
JAP therefore appealed to all Nigerians to abide by the use of face mask, hand sanitizer etc. ordered  by government as that is the best alternative to stop the spread of the disease.
According to the statement , JAP has met with religious and traditional leaders in its drive to sensitize the people and will continue to do so as its agenda for corporate social responsibility.
