COVID-19: Plight Of Pregnant Women In Unguwan Doga Community Of Kaduna State [Audio]

No doubt, COVID-19 lock down has altered peoples way of life, posing various kinds of challenges in communities around the world.

The lock down has also adversely affected residents of Unguwan Doga, a community without healthcare facility in Kaduna State, Nigeria, where women usually take long trips to access antenatal care and medical support.

Andrew Mshelia, a reporter with Nagarta Radio in Nigeria, who visited the community reports that members of the community are passionately appealing to Governor Nasiru El-rufa’i of Kaduna State, to as a matter of urgency build a health care centre for them. This they say will alleviate the suffering by members of the community, especially pregnant women in accessing healthcare services.

The story with funding support from Maternal Figures was aired on Nagarta Radio on 18th May 2020.
