Nigeria: El-Rufai’s Intervention Has Increased School Enrolment — Says School Head

The intervention of the Kaduna State Government, Northwest Nigeria in the renovation of existing and construction of new classrooms in schools has led to increase in enrollment of pupils .

A Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) Primary School teacher at Kampanin Maude  stated this while speaking to a team of journalists on tour of projects  being undertaken  by government  in Kubau Local Government Area.

The Acting Head Master of the school, Isa Mohammad told reporters, led by officials of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), that the renovation of the school started in September 2017 and have been completed,

“Before there was only one block of classrooms that was okay. Five classrooms were renovated, and five, with red bricks, constructed by the government, ” he explained.

Speaking further, he said that in terms of conveniences, the school now boasts of nine toilets, with six toilets built by WASSH, while three toilets were built by government.

Besides the buildings he said, the government also provided furniture for the staff room and the classrooms.

“New chairs were brought in for teachers and pupils,” he said.

The Head Master said  a total of 984 pupils spread into Primary 1-6 and early child care development education are enrolled in the school.

Evidence through photographs shown to the team, indicates the deplorable condition of the school before the intervention covering  all round parameter fence and a gate.
