The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Gombe State Council, northeast of the country, has elected new officials to pilot its affairs for the next three years.
Declaring the results, the Chairman of electoral committee, Mrs Rebecca Mu’azu of VON, said Sa’idu Malala of the Information chapel polled 92 votes to beat his rivals, Umar Ma’aji also from Information chapel, who polled 37 votes and Yusuf Ishaq Baji of State Radio chapels who got 16 vote
The post of Vice Chairman went to Musa Jibirin Tabra of NTA while Vincent Bala Danture was elected Secretary, Rebecca Maina of state TV Treasurer and Yakubu Ajiya Assistant Secretary, Assaneth Paris of State Radio Financial Secretary, and Abubakar Sadiq Auditor was elected unopposed.
He said the victory has bestowed on him the onerous task of rebuilding the union and make it virile like other councils across the country by stamping out quackery in the state.
Malala commended the electoral Committee members and all other members of the Union and security agencies for their Efforts.
