Nigeria Embarks On Road Construction To Boost Agriculture — Says Minister

In order to boost movement of goods and services across Nigeria, the Federal government says it has embarked on roads construction Nationwide.

The Minister of State Power, Works and Housing, Suleiman Hassan Zarma stated this on Sunday while speaking with Newsmen in Gombe, northeast of the country.

He said government was highly committed to improving roads, railways and water ways towards developing the economy of the country.

His word, “Almost all the roads that are going on, they are leading to the hinterlands for full utilisation of agricultural potentials in this country.

“So what is being produced from agricultural areas is evacuated into the industrial market for agro processing, agro marketing and it improves on the welfare and economy of those farmers and the industries that are processing these produce.

“And even exporting them so that we can earn more money for Nigeria since we are saying we are now deviating from the oil sector”, he said.

“We have made a lot of progress and for the past two weeks we have been on the roads to inspect what we are doing.”
