Ministers from eight African countries and senior UN officials will meet in Kenya to discuss ways of implementing the Paris Climate Agreement during the Africa Climate Week to hold between April 9 and April 13,
According to a statement from the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) on Thursday, as action on climate change will receive a high-level boost when ministers from eight countries in Africa and senior UN and other officials converge on Nairobi, Kenya, for Africa Climate Week.
UNFCC Executive Secretary Patricia Espinosa said in the release that the success of the Paris Climate Agreement would require help from both public and private sectors, which is what this climate summit is about.
“The workshops, discussions and meetings during Africa Climate Week will gather regional concerns and take them back to formal negotiations by the UNFCC,’’ it stressed.
