Kaduna (Nigerian) – Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers has called on government at all levels to engage Estate Surveyors and Valuers towards enhancing internally generated revenue for the country’s economic growth.
Kaduna State chapter chairman of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Hassan Baba, made the call at the 2017 annual Estate Surveyors and Valuers meeting in Kaduna, northwest Nigeria.
The annual meeting deliberated on the topic ‘Revising the existing framework to maximize potency in land base revenue for sustainable development.
He noted that the present economic challenges calls for concerted efforts towards enhancing the revenue base of every tier of government in the country for better living standard.
Hassan Baba assured that the meeting would critically look at avenues of giving professional advice on the best way to improve revenue generation in the country and Kaduna State in particular.
Land, he said, is a good economic base stressing that efforts must be made by government to recognise the importance of professionals like the Estate Surveyors and Valuers to give good option for better revenue generation that could bail the government from the present economic challenges being experienced.

The chairman explained that engaging Estate Surveyors and Valuers would give the government a better option of good evaluation of land, adding that the required revenue will be realized for better execution of government policies.
Balarebe Anas Ibrahim, vice chairman of the Institution noted that time has come for government and Estate Surveyors and Valuers’ collaboration, pointing out that they stand the best option for effective and efficient economy recovery at all tiers of government.
Ambrose C Okofu, the state publicity Secretary of the Institution maintained that the meeting would help members reposition themselves in discharging their professional duties towards enhanced revenue economic base.
