Danauta pointed out that, this year’s themed,   ‘The Road to 2030: Eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Production and Consumption’ was in line with the vision of the present administration to make it great again.

While recognizing the importance of youths in the society, the commissioner noted that the government in its quest for building great leaders would continue to seek both local and international partners to fashion out course for youths’ development.

He said, “Earlier with supports of Aid foundation and the Nigeria Stability and reconciliation Program (NSRP) through the British Council, mapping of youths organizations was done to identify the various stakeholders and methodologies of engaging these stakeholders so as to formulate a broad based youth policy for the state.

“All these are geared towards having a strategic document that will enable government better formulate policies that will cater for all segments of youths with them taking the lead.

“Like in everywhere else in the world, the youths of Kaduna state can be very powerful agents of positive change. It is not enough to hope for a better tomorrow, we must act now and take and take responsibility for the tomorrow of our state. The youths shoulder a heavy burden of conflict, poverty, marginalization and despair in our society today. There can be no sustainable development if they remain on the sideline…” he explained.

Danauta further thanked the organizations for their support and called on other agencies to collaborate with government to build an acceptable future for the youths.
