Sallah: Nigerian Pastor Distributes Food, Cloths To Over 1000 Muslims In Need

imageKaduna (Nigeria) — Pastor Yohanna Buru, the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship of Nigeria has continued his crusade of strengthening relationship with muslims, this time around by distributing food and clothing, targeting at over 1000 vulnerable people in celebration of the 2016 eid el fitr.

Beneficiaries include Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Prison Inmates, and a group of widow.

Pastor Buru who led a team of Christian and Muslims youth to the distribution of the items said, ”we have come to support our brothers with food to eat, because today is Sallah, and we want them join all muslims to be in happiness, and it‘s our joy to assist the needy at any time, most especially muslim brothers during a period like this”

He said, “the Bible teaches us to love our neighbours as we love ourselves, and whatever we do as Christians, we follow the teachings of the holy bible, adding that this is our 5th year of embarking on this journey of food and drink distribution during Sallah period to the less privilege, widows and inmates, and donating new cloths to the orphanages,”

Pastor maxual sanda who accompany the team said,”During the Christmas festivity, and new year celebration, our muslim brothers had joined us in celebrating throughout the seasons. Today we are here to assist those needy ones with food and drinks, with some other humanitarian assistance to make them feel happy”

An internally displaced mother of 7, who hails from Gomboru Ngala in Borno state, Maman Aisha, alongside other beneficiary thanked the church for the gesture.

“No one bring any food to us today, only the Christians remember us, and we are really greatful to them, and we are still calling on all the Good Samaritans in the state to remembers us today when eating their delicious food,” says a beneficiary.

The Team also visited Mallam Nigger Skills Acquisition Centre at Rigasa, where they also distributed food.
