Kaduna (Nigeria) — Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, has called on parents to participate in the ongoing Maternal and Neonatal Child Health Week (MNCHW) by treating their children against killer diseases.
Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, told AFRICA PRIME NEWS in Kaduna that the call is necessary in view of the fact that the treatment is not only accessible, but also free to all residents of the state.
Dr Balarabe urged all mothers and care givers to take advantage of the opportunity to get free services, which include Vitamin A, for children aged 6 – 59 months for good eye sight and for improved immunity against childhood killer diseases such as measles.
She also revealed other services in the packages to include deworming tablet for children and routine drugs for pregnant women.
The services she said is also available “in the various government health facilities between 8 – 2pm. In addition, the ongoing maternal new born child health week offers mothers and other caregivers opportunity to register their children and also get adequate information on nutrition and sanitation.” She said.
