Nigerian Military Confirms Attack On Its Niger-Delta Facilities

Kaduna (Nigeria) – Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters has confirmed an attack on military location at Nembe Jetty, in Niger-Delta by suspected oil bunkerers.

A statement by Defence spokesperson, Colonel Rabe Abubakar says, the incident is being investigated and the “Joint Task Force Operation PULO SHIELD has moved into action to arrest and apprehend the perpetrators of this unpatriotic and callous attacks.”

The statement says, the “military will deal decisively with anybody or group involved in this and similar acts of attacks or sabotage on the nation’s economy.”

It advises affected community to go about their normal activities and solicit their cooperation by given information to the military or any other security agencies to avert re-occurrence of such incidence.

“The Defence Headquarters is reiterating its commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and properties of innocent citizens nationwide.” The statement says.
