NSCDC Arrests Ex-convict Over Car Snatch In Northern Nigeria

Kaduna (Nigeria) – Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested an ex-convict over alleged attempt to snatch a car in Nigerian city of Kaduna.

A statement by the Commandant of the Corps in Kaduna, Ibrahim Ningi says the suspect was arrested at the state secretariat where a large number of government workers were on-going verification exercise.

“On interrogation, the suspect identified himself as Mohammed Shehu, 55, who hails from Malumfashi LGA of Katsina State and confessed that he uses Master keys to open and steal cars. .”

He said the suspect was an ex-convict from Kaduna prison where he was released last week.

Ningi statement says the suspect would be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded.

The statement calls on Nigerians to be vigilant and report suspected criminals in their midst to relevant security agencies.

It says the corps would adopt new measures to track down criminals in the state and solicits for the support of the people.
