Kaduna (Nigeria) – A Non Governmental Organisation, Initiative For Social Sector Advocacy (ISSA) has called on all the 23 Local Government Areas in Kaduna state, Northwest Nigeria to promptly release on annual basis, the N2million budgetary allocation in respect of Child Birth Spacing.
The Group also urged Governor Nasir El-Rufai to introduce a budget line for Child Birth Spacing at the state level, which it says is missing.
ISSA disclosed this in a statement signed by its Chairman, Malam Shehu Muhammad Makarfi and Secretary, Hajiya Hafsat Mohammed Baba respectively.
The Group assured the State Government of its readiness to cooperate in ensuring positive change and improvement of service delivery, especially in the area of health.
It commended Nigerians for conducting free and fair elections, which is a genuine demonstration of the desire for positive Change in all sphere of lives.
“ISSA hereby calls on the incoming governments at various levels to pay greater attention to the Social Sector, particularly the Health of Nigerian women and those within the reproductive age.
“And adopt preventive measures that will promote good Health and governance,”
The Group also urged all elected officials to deliver on their promises and the wisdom and capacity to respond to the aspirations and expectations of the people.
