Nigeria Guber Polls: PDP Youth Leader Blames LamidoBy Mohammad Ibrahim
Kaduna (Nigeria) – Peoples Democratic Party Youth Leader, Zakar Ali Zaki (a.k.a Radio) in Jigawa State, Northwest Nigeria has blamed Governor Sule Lamido over party’s defeat at the last gubernatorial elections in the state.
He said the party has all it takes to win the election, but the governor’s refusal to allow free and fair primary elections at all levels led to the party’s defeat.
The youth leader said this at a forum in Kaduna.
“The choice of Alhaji Aminu as our part’s governorship candidate was not a wrong choice, but the mistake was that the state governor Sule Lamido refusal to allow the party elect credible candidates for senate, House of representatives and State House of Assembly to contest the election.
“Also those political office holders appointed by the state governor are people that hardly visit their local government areas to mobilize support for the party.
“Majority of them lack grass root support which led to our defeat,” he said.
He explained further that it was a disgrace for the governor to lose his local government of Birnin Kudu to the opposition party.
Asked if he will dump PDP, Zakar said he will remain in the party, saying they will amend their mistake and come back strong in future elections in the state.
